This modality is otherwise known as Chinese Acupressure. It is specifically designed for use in various treatments and can have drastic results from its usage.
SHIATSU
This modality originates from Japan and is performed on a "mat" that is positioned on the floor. The mat that is used is a 2" thick memory foam mattress topper that is equivalent in size to a full-sized bed.
The techniques used in this modality are primarily compression, joint manipulation, and stretching. These techniques allow for a wide range of treatments and facilitate the resolution of almost any soft
tissue injury.
TABLE TREATMENTS
The table is used for those clients who are less mobile and have issues getting up and down. It is less versatile than the mat, and many of the most effective techniques are unable to be used due to the increased height of the table. There are many techniques that can still be utilized with the table, and for those who are apprehensive about new experiences or are unable to handle the mat, the table is available.
